PASI is governed by a Board of Directors chaired by the Minister of Labour, and the following members:

  • Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour - Vice chairman of the board
  • Advisor of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion
  • Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative, Financial Affairs and Planning
  • Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development
  • Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • Chairman of the General Federation Of Oman Trade.
  • Director General of Budget and Contracts at the Ministry of Finance
  • Representative From Employers nominated by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  • Representative of the insured persons nominated by the General Federation of Oman Trade

Board of Directors Competences

  • Supervising the implementation of the law, regulations and decisions, and taking the necessary action to achieve the sought objectives and enhance work quality and mechanism.
  • Establishing and modifying of PASI organizational structure to be in line with its responsibilities, expanding its activities, setting out and amending the detailed functions of its administrative divisions in coordination with the concerned authorities, and determining the financial and administrative powers of PASI Director General.
  • Issuing decisions and internal regulationson financial, administrative, technical and personnel affairs without adherence to the Government rules and regulations
  • Reviewing progress and periodic performance assessment reports and issuing the necessary decisions to raise performance level.
  • Reviewing plans and approving PASI current and investment draft budget.
  • Approving PASI budget after discussing the same with the teams.
  • Approving the Authority's annual final accounts and financial position within three months from the end of the financial year.
  • Drafting PASI general investment plan, approving investment scopes in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Economy and taking the necessary action to implement the same.
  • Reviewing social insurance legislation and making proposals on the same.
  • Hiring actuaries to inspect and prepare the Authority's financial status.
  • Investing the Authority's funds.
  • Hiring one or more than one accounts controller who shall audit PASI’s accounts and work directly under the Chairman, and defining audit fees.
  • Accepting grants, bequests, subsidies and donations.
